[In about a half hour, M shows up to the very vaguely-described hospital with a cloth bag. Inside are several DVDS, among them:
- The Princess Bride (he was assured this was a classic) - The Three Musketeers (the one he was told "doesn't suck") - The Mark of Zorro (if only M knew the irony) - Joan (a recent release following Joan of Arc's fight against the English army, without the depressing burning at the stake parts and lots of fictionalized action) and - 150 (an all-female 300, only with less sexism and no homosexual undertones, because these filmmakers aren't cowards, so it's all overtones. He was assured it was very gay.)]
If you have a TV in here, great. If not, we can see if I can't sweet-talk one of the nurses into letting me borrow you.
I'm not sure if it ought to be categorized as super...it's often very dingy work. [just thinking about it, she wipes at her forehead, as if to expect dirt there.]
But circumstances aside, at least I've got no excuse not to catch up with you. Even if it means I can't properly spar...
[she makes a face. super still doesn't sit right. it makes her sound...more than she is? which is definitely not true. she's in a hospital, for heaven's sake!!!]
No? Then I suppose that means you've had yourself a peaceful time of rest and relaxation with your pet...thing.
You mean D? They've calmed down a bit now that they have Pancho to play with.
[You have met Francisco the chinchilla, right? M decided to give him a slightly different name than his ported out ex-boyfriend because it was beginning to freak him out a little.]
But then again I don't think either one of us knows what the word relax means.
[M gives a bit of a sheepish shrug at the question.]
The latter. Before I got here, I could count the number of movies I'd seen on one hand.
[Now, he could probably count them on three, if he stole someone else's hand to do it. It isn't that he's against movies, it's more he doesn't try to seek them out unless someone else suggests it.]
[M almost says "I've always got time for you", only to stop himself before it comes off as passive aggressive. She seems to be struggling enough with her competing priorities without a poor choice of words.]
[she goes through each of them more carefully, giving the back covers a look as well.
her eyebrows raise, amused:] This one has...a swordsman called Inigo in it? I've a friend of the same name, back in Ylisse. I'm kind of curious about this now. [she holds up The Princess Bride, her selection.] I wonder if he'll be at all like my friend.
((Ooc: Red will be porting out permanently the day after Christmas, so there will not be a log as planned for the gift exchange. You can, however, assume that he had a small gathering at his house for those interested the Saturday before Christmas. Please feel free to thread your character's exchange in that setting via IC inboxes if you wish!))
[archie's secret santa gift to m - delivered by courier - is pretty obvious just from the wrapping. it's a large square, clearly a painting.
he's had a very intricate baroque style painting commissioned of m, in a silver and black smoking jacket sitting on a huge leather chair with dragpawn on his lap. the smoking jacket is adorned with little details that look like fleur-de-lis at first glance, but on closer inspection are actually little images of m punching someone in the face, m dancing, dragpawn with a crown and sitting on their own little throne. m is smiling at the 'camera', his hand on top of dragpawn who has a little top hat on. the chair seems to be solid gold, with some red leather and diamond studs along the edges. not very functional in reality, most likely, but who cares! the small background is just a fireplace with a few covers of the more popular m shipping zines proudly displayed across the wall.
there's a little note with it:] merry christmas, asshole.
[and then the next day when blue and red are ported out he'll get fubiki??]
[It isn't long after M receives it does Archie get a photo message of the portrait hanging up in his apartment. A few seconds later, it's accompanied by:]
It's less serious than it sounds. However, it can turn ugly.
I wish to contact the OTO, specifically the Maurtia Falls faction since they seem to be the ones who aren't extremists. In May they flooded some buildings to leave a message, which isn't like the OTO faction from Phobos who tried to drop a nuclear bomb on us, so I believe that specific group could be reasoned why.
