I've been thinking about it a lot lately. Back when I first got here, I actually had this exact conversation with a kid named Dick Grayson who had just lost a good friend of his.
I was a lot newer then.
But I've been thinking about what I told him then, and if I still think it 2 years later.
I told him:
I think... I'd rather meet people and lose them then never meet them at all. Because while it sucks that it happened... you're still a better person from having met them.
I thought I didn't still believe it for a while.
But then I remember that I am who I am today because of people like Dick, and Bucky, and Cisco, and Lenny, and EddieEddie, and Mouse, and one of the 12 Lokis, and Piper....
you're right it's just hard to remember when you get left behind repeatedly they were good people, m. i'm glad you had them in your life.
do you want anything of blue's as a keepsake? i still have the keys to this place for a few days i know you have fubuki but i don't know. thought i'd offer.
[he wouldn't consider himself someone to be put on m's list, but he has figured they're both in the same boat of desperately trying not to think of the other being ported out. m's definitely on his list.]
you too, you know? i know i said i wanted to move on, but not to the degree that i'll forget them
yeah. they had a bunch of stuff from fanport, actually. you're welcome to come and take anything you want. also...
how did you know them? if you don't mind me asking. i didn't know you guys were in the same circle.
I only really knew Blue. He was talking about his abilities on the network, and they reminded me of mine a bit.
He challenged me to a drinking contest, and after drinking him under the table a few times, we got to talking about pokemon. He mentioned that he had Fubuki, and I told him about D and how Cisco had created a functional imPocreat arena for him. We battled a few times, made them both pretty happy.
that's how it is back home. trainers have their pokémon to protect them, and he wasn't exactly looking for trouble. he didn't really get to show it in the battle demo at fanport because my team aren't at the same level as his, but he's genuinely one of the best tactical minds of his generation. both him and red were prodigies.
Clings to
They get along.
It's getting real hard to care about people when they're constantly leaving.

i feel you. i'd rather see how much concrete i can drink before i let myself get close to one more asshole here.
[the wording there was on purpose. he hopes maybe m would get a laugh out of it. probably not though.]
i have a bottle of mamont for when it inevitably happens. we can share it. you'll love the bottle, it's a pretty weird shape.

I've got food if you want to turn this into a real classy party. You've got the key.

Not a sociopath, I hope.
I just didn't recognize feelings well enough to acknowledge them.
Good times.

do you think it's worth it? seriously. being able to feel these things but at the expense of all the pain when this sort of thing happens.

You're good people.
[You're just still here. That's the only reason he wasn't on his list.]
I guess
If he has some sort of pokemon plush.
Maybe of Eevee?
I can add it to the pile.

Though I gotta say about Blue
For a guy who loves fighting so much, I've never seen a guy more likely to get his ass kicked in an actual fight.

You're good people, Archie.
You made a difference with him. Never forget that.

mostly because he has now
i just wish i'd been able to admit it to myself longer than 5 seconds before they ported out
