I'm trapped in a hospital bed for the foreseeable future; I can almost guarantee I'll be free.

Hey I don't know what your visitation schedule's like.

Tell me the name of the hospital and I'll be there.

[she chuckles.]

It's just outside of Maurtia Falls. I'm told it has blue lights on the outside? But if that's true, I haven't seen it myself.

[In about a half hour, M shows up to the very vaguely-described hospital with a cloth bag. Inside are several DVDS, among them:

- The Princess Bride (he was assured this was a classic)
- The Three Musketeers (the one he was told "doesn't suck")
- The Mark of Zorro (if only M knew the irony)
- Joan (a recent release following Joan of Arc's fight against the English army, without the depressing burning at the stake parts and lots of fictionalized action)
and
- 150 (an all-female 300, only with less sexism and no homosexual undertones, because these filmmakers aren't cowards, so it's all overtones. He was assured it was very gay.)]

If you have a TV in here, great. If not, we can see if I can't sweet-talk one of the nurses into letting me borrow you.

[thank goodness the bed's already inclined so sitting up in surprise doesn't result in surprise pain.

she gazes down at the bounty dumped on her lap, not wholly processing it all but still delighted nonetheless because company.

beaming at him:] You've brought a treasure trove, M. Thank you! I'm glad to see you again.

Like I said, I might not know pop culture but I do know people with great taste.

[He occupies the seat beside her.]

And it's good to see you again too. I see that if I want to hang out with you, I have to tie you to some kind of heavy furniture.

[she makes a bit of a face.]

I...I suppose that's warranted, considering how poorly I've been managing my time of late. I'm sorry. I never intended to neglect you.

I'm not sure if it ought to be categorized as super...it's often very dingy work. [just thinking about it, she wipes at her forehead, as if to expect dirt there.]

But circumstances aside, at least I've got no excuse not to catch up with you. Even if it means I can't properly spar...

[she makes a face. super still doesn't sit right. it makes her sound...more than she is? which is definitely not true. she's in a hospital, for heaven's sake!!!]

No? Then I suppose that means you've had yourself a peaceful time of rest and relaxation with your pet...thing.

You mean D? They've calmed down a bit now that they have Pancho to play with.

[You have met Francisco the chinchilla, right? M decided to give him a slightly different name than his ported out ex-boyfriend because it was beginning to freak him out a little.]

But then again I don't think either one of us knows what the word relax means.

You may be right about that. I'm not sure how long I'll be able to stand sitting idle like this.

[she picks up a couple of these movies, regarding them with a bit more thought.]

Which one of these do you like best? [glancing at him:] Or have you not actually seen them?

[M gives a bit of a sheepish shrug at the question.]

The latter. Before I got here, I could count the number of movies I'd seen on one hand.

[Now, he could probably count them on three, if he stole someone else's hand to do it. It isn't that he's against movies, it's more he doesn't try to seek them out unless someone else suggests it.]

I asked for recommendations based on your tastes.

[M almost says "I've always got time for you", only to stop himself before it comes off as passive aggressive. She seems to be struggling enough with her competing priorities without a poor choice of words.]

her eyebrows raise, amused:] This one has...a swordsman called Inigo in it? I've a friend of the same name, back in Ylisse. I'm kind of curious about this now. [she holds up The Princess Bride, her selection.] I wonder if he'll be at all like my friend.
